Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2002 came into effect on 1 January 2005.

They affect all public sector organisations including the Public Health Wales. They are intended to ensure openness, transparency and accountability of all public organisations.

Under these Acts, all public bodies have a legal duty to ensure that the public, staff and other organisations are able to access information about how they operate and make decisions about their performance.

Publication Scheme

Public Health Wales internet website will act as the single comprehensive Publication Scheme for all its management divisions. The approach across the Trust is to include within the Publication Scheme each Division's Management Team Meetings' Agenda & Minutes once they have been approved.

A Right to Information

In addition to material issued through the Publication Scheme, the public have a right to request any other material held by a public authority. Public Health Wales therefore has a mechanism in place to respond to such requests, decide whether the requested information should be released, or whether any exemptions may apply to the request.

Please also note you have the right to request the format of the information required, if you require this information via post, please ensure you add your postal address and postcode to the information request box below. Please contact the Freedom of Information Office if you haven't received an acknowledgement within three working days.
